FAQ
Questions before you drive with us.
These answers help drivers and contractors understand how SP Logistics reviews W-2 applications and contractor interest.
Is this a W-2 role or a 1099 contractor opportunity?
SP Logistics reviews both W-2 company driver applications and 1099 contractor / owner-operator interest. The right path depends on the driver’s goals, documentation, equipment setup, experience, safety history, and the opportunity being reviewed.
Do you offer company driver roles?
Yes. W-2 company driver roles may be available based on hiring needs, experience, safety history, TWIC status, port or rail readiness, and company requirements.
Do you offer 1099 contractor opportunities?
Yes. SP Logistics reviews qualified 1099 contractor / owner-operator opportunities separately. Contractor approval depends on required documentation, agreement terms, equipment and insurance requirements where applicable, safety history, and lane fit.
Do I need a TWIC card?
TWIC is preferred for Seattle/Tacoma port and rail drayage. Applicants without TWIC should be willing and able to obtain one.
Do contractors need their own truck?
Equipment expectations are reviewed during contractor onboarding and depend on the opportunity, documentation, customer requirements, insurance requirements where applicable, and agreement terms.
Are weekends off?
Many local drayage opportunities are weekday-focused, but schedules depend on port, rail, receiver, customer, appointment and dispatch requirements.
Is work guaranteed?
Work availability depends on customer demand, lane fit, terminal and rail conditions, receiver schedules, equipment availability, safety history, documentation, and approval.
How do I apply?
Email your name, phone number, CDL experience, TWIC status, port or rail experience, safety background, and whether you are interested in a W-2 company driver role or a 1099 contractor / owner-operator opportunity.
