How does the Union Pacific Seattle rail ramp appointment system work?
Use UP’s Seattle/Argo terminal instructions and UPGo for the required driver workflow; do not assume the ramp uses a marine-terminal appointment system. UP identifies Seattle at 4700 Denver Avenue South and describes UPGo-enabled driver processing. The official sources reviewed do not establish one universal appointment calendar for every Seattle rail transaction.
Confirm the current pickup authorization, unit availability, driver/carrier registration and mission or pre-arrival steps for the exact move. An app submission is not a substitute for cargo release or an accepted equipment arrangement. Keep the unit number and required transaction references consistent between dispatch, the railroad record and the driver’s mission.
UP’s terminal/flip hours and roadability service hours are listed separately. A facility being open does not mean every support function is available at every hour. If a chassis or equipment issue needs roadability assistance, plan around that service’s current schedule. Ask SP to review the rail instruction, receiving appointment and return requirement together. If an account-specific reservation or exception applies, obtain it through the railroad’s authorized channel before dispatch and include its confirmation with the driver’s instruction.
