Seattle–Tacoma · Container yard, staging & equipment

The equipment plan behind the container move.

Connect chassis supply, lifting, empty returns and reuse with the pickup and next delivery. SP arranges the equipment and service-provider handoffs around the actual unit and location.

Stacks of ocean containers in a paved storage yard

Empty returns and provider-approved street turns

Use the current depot and equipment-provider instructions for container and chassis returns. Where the provider authorizes reuse, an eligible import empty can be coordinated with an export loading movement.

Container grounding and lifting

Describe whether the container needs to come off the chassis, change chassis or return to transport. The plan identifies the lift provider, lifting location, access, container weight and ground conditions; lifting is not assumed to occur at SP’s Tacoma yard.

One shipment or a recurring equipment program

Connect chassis pickup, split moves, dedicated pools and repositioning with the receiver’s operating pattern. Include ownership or supplying-party information and who authorizes the equipment exchange.
